Hope Chicago wins 2022 Chicago Innovation Award

Hope Chicago’s two generational program offering debt-free higher education to Chicago students and parents is recognized for its innovative approach to narrowing economic disparities and building generational wealth for 4,000 Chicago families.

CHICAGO, IL, November 17, 2022 / -- Hope Chicago has been named one of the winners of the 21st annual Chicago Innovation Awards.

The winners were announced at this year’s event held on Wednesday, November 16th at Morgan Manufacturing. The annual Chicago Innovation Awards is the Chicago region’s foremost recognition of the most innovative new products or services brought to market each year.

“We are deeply honored that our two-generational model has been recognized with this award,” says Hope Chicago’s Chief Executive Officer, Janice K. Jackson. “Chicago has always addressed big issues with new ways of thinking and operating, and an openness to big, bold solutions. We need to do it again to confront the educational inequities that drive so many other challenges we face.”

“The Chicago region continues to be a global leader in innovation,” said Tom Kuczmarski, co-founder with Chicago journalist Dan Miller of the awards. “The 2022 winners are solving unmet needs impacting the environment, education, workforce development, healthcare, big data, consumer products, restaurants, logistics, marketing, food, water, finance and even zoology.”

The winning organizations receive a variety of honors, including the opportunity to ring the Nasdaq Bell in New York City, and meetings with the Mayor of Chicago, Governor of Illinois and Cook County President.

“Hope Scholars know the whole city is behind them and recognitions, such as this award, affirms that reality,” adds Jackson. “Their future innovations and contributions to our city are the key to a more equitable and prosperous Chicago. Hope Chicago is simply here to remove barriers to those outcomes.”
